Configure MS SQL Server

A default SQL Express installer is included in the SLNX package. Please see Install SQL Express If you do not want to use the default SQL Express, then you must configure a new SQL Server.

As a best practice, ensure that you create and configure the database (and optionally configure the database for print resilience) BEFORE you proceed to install the SLNX Server components.

• Install SQL Express Install SQL Express with the required settings that will allow SLNX to automatically configure the database on the local machine.

• Configure SQL Server Configuration ManagerMS SQL Server configuration is optional for an on-site environment, but it is a requirement for a Cloud environment.

• Create a Print Resilience Database:  If you are planning to create a print resilience database to share print jobs among two or more Delegation Servers, install SQL Server for print resilience.
